COLLEGE MAGAZINE ANALYSIS

The first thing you notice about this magazine is the image, which is a picture of typical College students. Unlike other college magazines this image is not of a happy, smiling student at college to portray a warm welcoming environment or even a location image of the college itself. Instead the image is of students/models posing for the picture as if they are on the cover of a music magazine or article. This draws the attention of College students, who may be interested in music (magazines) or bands which the majority are. The representation of the magazine is accurate for the audience they are trying to appeal to, which is college students both male and female. At the very top of the magazine cover on the left is the Masterhead ‘The national Student magazine.’ this is in white to stand out from the image of the cover whilst ‘magazine’ is in a different colour and font. The main cover line is also in white at the bottom of the cover whilst the other cover lines are in red, smaller and are at the very bottom of the cover. The language used for this college magazine is informal to appeal to the audience it is targeting. The magazine is free and is a monthly publication.
